Okay so despite failing to create a leather key fob using the PTI key fob die - at least the Felt version turned out quite nice (duh, as expected!). On one side, I used the seasonal stitched butterflies die (also from PaperTrey Ink) and an initial on the other side (cross-stitched letters - again from PaperTrey Ink).
I could not find any D-rings (well, at least not the size I wanted) - so I just used round split rings (25mm in Gold) - which seems to have worked fine. I will definitely be making more of these as they're nice and quick to make! Great for stocking stuffers.

Leather cutting fail!
Just a quick post to say that I tried out my PTI Key Fob die on Leather and it does not work )c:
I tried adding sheets to my bigshot sandwich - but all it did was emboss the leather. The die just does not cut deep enough into the leather. I ended up using scissors to cut out the shape - it kind of defeats the purpose of using the die if I have to do an extra step of cutting.
Will move on to using it with felt (lucky I purchased some!). I will also look out for some thinner leather (if it exists) - perhaps this is the key!

My PTI order arrived!
So excited to see my PTI package.
I also went and got some supplies to use with the Key Fob Die - items below are leather scraps, round plastic shapes (used for needle craft - I will be using this to stabilize the key fob) and metal rings. In the PTI Key Fob tutorials - they use felt, but I am planning to use these leather scraps - I will post up the whether I was successful (hopefully the die will be able to cut through the leather okay - fingers crossed!).
Here is a list of what I ordered from PaperTrey Ink:

PaperTrey Ink Design-A-Softie
Late last year I discovered PaperTrey Ink - and I have been hooked ever since! A month ago they released 'Design a Softie' - and I knew I just had to get it. Below are the 4 softies that I created using their kit. These softies are based on my 2 nieces (who are both doing calisthenics) and their puppy. The other softie is based on my Aunt.
Blonde Girl Softie
I used the basic softie body dies and cut the front bit of her hair free-hand. Her hair plait - I devised using the top bit of the pocket die [when you chop off the top bit of the pocket die and sew the long sides together, you get a tube about the length of a finger - I made three of these and created the plait. I then used the mustache die to create the 'tail' end of the plait].
Pig-tailed Girl Softie
I used the basic body softie die and cut her hair free-hand - her pigtails I fashioned from bunny ears which I've folded down.
Puppy Softie
I used the bunny ear die to make the floppy ears. I then used the top part of the pocket die to devise a tail (please PTI - add a tail die for the design-a-softie kit - or add a video on how to easily add one).
Supplies:
- PTI Dark Chocolate Felt (Main Body)
- PTI True Black Felt (Nose)
- PTI Summer Sunrise Felt (Collar)
- Button Eyes (2 tiny buttons from the Design-a-Softie kit)

Welcome Folks!
This is my first time blogging so please be patient with me. I always enjoy reading and learning from other people's blogs so I thought I'd start my own. I am mostly into card-making but I also dabble in a little bit of sewing and beading - also a little bit of cooking when the mood strikes.
On this blog, I will share some of my crafty projects and hauls so stay tuned...
